A bit of Lettera beta feedback

I’m really enjoying Lettera (build 4266) so far! Here are a few thoughts, mostly small UX things.

  • Quick open within projects. I’m imagining something similar to Bear’s ⌘O and Nova’s ⇧⌘O.
  • Clicking empty space in sidebar should shift focus to sidebar but not close the current file
  • Showing the OS tab bar cuts of the top of the files sidebar
  • Would be nice to be able to open files as text regardless of their default OS handler/encoding. (.ts files might not be DVD video to be opened in VLC, but instead are typescript with Markdown in comment blocks.)
  • ⌘E for setting current search doesn’t seem to be system wide, nor does Lettera respect the system search buffer/“clipboard” when set in other apps.
  • If a file is already open, clicking that file in the sidebar should navigate me to the relevant tab rather than replacing the contents of the current tab with that file.

Looking forward to upcoming releases!

Thanks for the feedback! If you have the time, can you take a screenshot of what cutting off the file sidebar looks for you?

I’m not able to reproduce it right now, but if I manage to get it to do it I’ll share a screenshot and repro. Sorry!
