Are you sure it’s a niche feature? After all it was a popular request back in the days of good old Bear 1. I think both the exact display and the cumulative display have their place. Personally I prefer the exact display, since I use both #tag/subtag and #tag/subtag/subsubtag and distinguish between their meanings.
However, everything is fine now!
