# Bear Web Clipper Having Trouble with New York Times

- **OS Version** : macOS 15.5
- **What were you doing** : Trying to clip the following New York Times article: [https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/26/business/electric-vehicles-history.html](https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/26/business/electric-vehicles-history.html)
- **What feature did you use** : “Send to Bear”
- **What happened** : Bear does not clip content as it normally does; just attaches HTML file to note rather than capturing full text of article; sometimes it works after many attempts
- **What did you expect to happen** :

This has been a problem for at least a year. Not sure if the Times changed the way it renders articles or this is being caused by a Bear update; I suspect the former. Anyway, it was one more reason for me to shift to Readwise for saving articles.

I’ll add that Evernote’s clipper does a fine job not only of rendering New York Times articles but filtering out all the “junk” content.
