I recently tried to import a mutli-folder arrangement of markdown docs, and found the experience very unsatisfying. First of all, if I am in tag #XYZ, and then import, everything imports without tags. At a minimum, I would expect it to auto-assign the tag of the currently focused tag (I’d even be tempted to call this a bug)

However as a feature, I would go further. It would be nice to auto-tag each nested folder with a nested tag, so it would resemble the folder structure. I know tags aren’t folders, and I may choose to rearrange them, but it’s a useful starting points. Documents in the root of the folder could get a #xx/yy/root# tag perhaps so that they also can be found in one collected spot.

If you are bringing in a folder with possible dozens of markdown files, getting a head start on this logical grouping would have saved so much time. I had to do a lot of manual organisation consisting of setting the tag on one doc to start, then collecting the correct documents and dragging them to the tag…I just expected an option to import a folder to do more of that.
