Combining MD files on export

I’m writing a “book” that captures text and images for my own personal use, never resale. It will be close to 350 pages.

I’m going to use Lettera to do this and I’m pretty sure I have a process that involves at least 2 additional apps and multiple steps. One of the steps is to combine in order all the MD files that will represent each chapter and probably a couple other misc pages.

I can do this using the Marked process which is pretty straightforward or I can pick from a number of other apps or processes to do this as well, good old cp command comes to mind.

This is definitely a nice-to-have but it sure would be helpful (I think) if I could export multiple files into a single export file of my choice (PDF, Docx, html, etc.) in one step and in an order that I define unless there’s another creative way to do so. Since I already have a solution that also solves other concerns I’m not 100% convinced I would use it but am putting this out there in case others see a benefit to doing this.

An extra credit post process would be to insert page breaks and maybe even headers & footers. The latter could be problematic if inserting page numbers too because it’s probable that the embedded images will not remain in-place in all export types (PDF, docx, etc) requiring an extra post process step that to adjust the image location and size which may create blank pages that should be removed and renumbered.
