Creating Index Notes for every folder

I’d love to see a feature in the future to auto create “index” notes for each folder. Similar to what Obsidian Folder Notes Plugin does. Adding a “in this folder” list to this index note would be the second thing related to this.
In the end: a folder will be a note and every note might get sub notes. This means, creating a sub-note would need the main note to be converted to a folder with index note.

I’d love to have my obsidian vault replaced with lettera, getting the bear experience, but with plain files <3

I’m pretty sure that clicking on a folder should display something useful and informative in the area where the editor is. But why an automatically generated index of the containing files? You already can list them up in the sidebar by just unfolding the folder. It’s like duplicating something you already have.

I think f.e. a list of all attachments (like in Apple Notes) would be more useful. I wouldn’t even have anything against Folder Notes as such: You could write something in them about the topic the folder covers and create something like a map of contents.

However, I don’t think Folder Notes will be particularly popular with the developers. That’s because it would mean saving additional files in the opened folder, thereby deviating from the strict concept of 1:1 mirroring of what’s on the hard drive.
