# Highlighting Issues

**Operation system** : macOS Ventura 13.7.3  
**Web Browser** : Safari 18.3

## Bug report

**What were you doing** : Editing a note  
**What feature did you use** : Using highlighting features  
**What happened** : Highlighting features not consistent with macOS, menu sticky, and shortcut flashes  
**What did you expect to happen** : Highlighting features to work the same as macOS

**Feedback:** In addition to the [typo issue](https://community.bear.app/t/pop-up-menu-typo/15288), single-clicking to change the highlight color – like on macOS – doesn’t change the color (double-clicking does, it seems). The pop up menu stays even when you click around away from it. Highlighter shortcut flashes. I know it was stated [here](https://community.bear.app/t/web-keyboard-shortcuts/14851/2) that not all shortcuts are available, but didn’t know about this one since it was flashing.

The current version (2025/03/04) brings a highlight behaviour closer to that of the native app.
