I’ll apologize upfront as this may not be tremendously helpful, but thank you for working on Lettera.
I’m relatively new to Markdown and have tried my best to acclimate to the tools, but the jumpy disconnects of editing in Obsidian (I love the look of the callout blocks, but the janky jump from view to edit and back is disorienting) or what feels like Code to production switching in iA Writer with its approach of pure markdown and a “play to preview” have really been a struggle for me.
But then along comes Lettera, and wow - I can’t point to one singular thing, but it just feels better without sacrificing the visuals and editing - good lord, coming from tools where I felt I was wrestling a donkey, Lettera is feeling smooth and straightforward where I’m not constantly losing my context or needing to reorient myself. It’s just great - thank you for building this. The right sidebar for navigation is wonderful - it’s quickly become the markdown tool I want to solely work in.
My only complaint thus far was the dark mode icon - which is now fantastic with the update, and I can easily find it in my dock. Thank you.
Would I like more themes like Obsidian, sure. Would I like left sidebar enhancements beyond the one default folder - like iA’s smart folders, favourites, etc - absolutely. But even without them the app feels pretty complete to me and it’s been great using it thus far. Thanks so much to the team, and looking forward to the future release.
