# Notes list leaves a gap when a modified note leaves the view

- **Bear Version** : 2.8 (14403)
- **OS Version** : Sequoia 15.7.5
- **What were you doing** : Editing an “old” file far down in the Notes list when sorted by Modification Date. I have ~800 Notes, and this note was about 3/4 towards the bottom.
- **What feature did you use** : N/A
- **What happened** : The file’s “Modified” timestamp updated and the file was moved to the top of the Notes list. However, the Notes list did not reconfigure itself properly afterwards, leaving a white “gap”. Clicking the gap focuses the note above the gap. Scrolling up enough that the gap leaves the view and then scrolling back down fixes the issue.
- **What did you expect to happen** : Proper reconfiguration of the Notes list without a gap.
Additional information:
- I am not yet able to reproduce the problem consistently, but it happens often enough to be noticeable. I will update the post if I find a way to reproduce it perfectly.
- This is not a regression in 2.8. This also happened at least in 2.7.

I’ve noticed this as well, quite often. Can’t reliably reproduce, unfortunately.
