# Outline panel not static with file

- **macOS Version** : 26.5.2
- **What were you doing** : using the outline panel

1. When I choose t open the panel showing the outline I expect it to stay open even when I close the file and reopen it.
2. I would like to choose to have this panel on either the left or right side. My preference is left 😉
