My old eyes really wish that there were a few more choices of really really black fonts, both serif and non-serif. I know, the “gray” fonts are the big choices these days all over the place. And I do not use dark background either, unless I can’t avoid it.

You can choose any font that you like that is loaded on your system.
Thanks. This got me to take a second look at the Settings. I did not notice the selection box at the bottom of the font selection. After using Font Book, there are several fonts that have “Black” versions. Much happier now!
