# Relative Markdown Links Open as Web URLs Instead of Local Files

- **What were you doing:**  
Navigating between local Markdown files and folders using links in an index file.
- **What feature did you use:**  
Relative Markdown links, such as [Workspace Operating Memory](01\_Workspace\_Operating\_Memory/).
- **What happened:**  
The editor sent the relative path to Chrome, which treated it as a website address.
- **What did you expect to happen:**  
The linked local folder or Markdown file should open within the editor. These links work correctly in MarkText.
