Typewriter mode

I just downloaded Bear after not using it for a few years, just to see if some of the must-have features I wanted have been added. The lack of typewriter mode was one of them. I’m afraid I’ve deleted the app and moved on, but wanted to let the developers know, since I imagine I’m not the only one…

And another vote for typewriter mode!

One of those really useful features that once you get used to it feels essential. Currently my favoured implementation is Ulysses which just underlines the line. You can also focus on the line / sentence / paragraph (not sure why this is under typewriter mode in ulysses but it’s a nice option :)):

Keen for this feature!!

I’ve expressed a desire for this feature here (and on Reddit too) so since this thread has been necroposted, I’ll join the club and +1 this thread too!

I’ll also add +1s from my sister, brother in law, brother, three good friends, my cousin, and an old college friend who I haven’t talked to in awhile but whom I’m confident would also +1 this feature.

So yeah, put me down as a +9.

+1 for this feature. Every single day I wish for this. Without it, there are all these tiny little micro inconveniences of having to pause my writing flow to reposition the cursor to place that feels right. I never knew that I would care about this feature until I used it for a while in Ulysses, which I still pay for solely because of this feature for when I want to write without distraction (and then I copy-paste into Bear). I think people will be far more supportive of this feature once they have a chance to use it for a while.

+1 for this feature. How far away are we from implementing this? @matteo

My + 1 too. I really like typewriter mode in Ulysses and iA Writer
