40 year technical writing, technical editing, technical publishing project management veteran. Along the way I became expert in VI, Troff, TeX, Word, FrameMaker, Acrobat JavaScript, Google Docs, … and more that I’ve forgotten.

Now I‘m looking for a writing app that can span the gamut from personal journaling, diary, project development archive, idea capture, daily to do list, research organizing, to writing several user guides, reference manuals, technical research papers, screenplays, and political essays at once while handling books of over 1000 pages while being able to work on multiple device platforms.

No, I’m not doing all of that now, but I want a tool that will support all of that so that I’m not constantly banging up against the limits of the tool and can just do my work.
