Bear 3.0.3 macOS with Typewriter mode available for testers

Hello!
Bear 3.0.3 for macOS is out now for beta testers, and it brings something we think writers will love: Typewriter Mode:writing_hand:

Like old typewriters, Typewriter Mode keeps the line you’re writing in the middle of the screen. Your eyes stay in one place while your words scroll by, so you don’t end up typing at the bottom edge of the window.

Turn it on from Edit › Typewriter Mode, or press ⌃⌘T.

Let us know here if you find bugs or if something doesn’t work as expected.

It seems to work great! I just noticed that the expand/collapse header chevrons stay in their normal position when activating or deactivating Typewriter Mode.

I’d also like to have some visual indication in the UI when Typewriter Mode is active, perhaps with an option to deactivate it, similar to the Read-only icon.

With two clicks you can select a word and with three the entire paragraph. When typewriter mode is enabled this works quite well unless you’re deliberately taking your time.

Now I’ve enabled the “Tap to click” option in the trackpad settings. This causes the selected line, when I tap, to be moved to the center of the editor much more aggressively and quickly than when I click. In fact it’s so fast that I can barely select a single word, let alone an entire paragraph.

Here my settings:
