The sketch feature doesn’t allow any zoom or even fullscreen which does not allow any sort of detail, as a student i have to constantly draw graphs with detail and on apple notes this is super easy where as with bear it’s impossible unless i draw a giant graph which defeats the whole purpose if im trying to draw an example graph next to a specific term. With the iPad about to receive a ton of new features and it being the main device of a lot of students i hope this becomes something the team looks at.

+1 for this. I would like to see better sketching capability also. Zooming and full screen would be great.

A nice workaround for sketches mixed with handwriting is adding ‘empty’ pdf’s (blank, ruled or graph paper) to your notes. You save the template pdf’s in iCloud Drive for easy access as an attachment in Bear. With two taps you can use markup, zoom in, make it full screen etc. It’s also possible to add additional pages. Plus, OCR works for pdf’s (even handwritten) :blush: I love Bear’s sketch feature for a quick drawing here and there, but using pdf and markup is more flexible…

That is an interesting work around but would be clunky for a quick sketch or 2 or 3 that augment my notes. I would like some improvements to the drawing feature within bear.

i think this is a great workaround for bigger projects but for quick couple sketches i would prefer if it were more streamline especially in a lecture setting , especially after how apple notes handles them, truly i think the sketch feature is currently very underused and could be a standout feature with the zoom feature allowing detail.

it seems sketches in notes can be cropped but not scaled… I’d love to be able to scale the sketch after it is done also.

As Bear is using Apple’s built-in markup tools, I fear it’s not possible to convert them to SVG. But I’d love to be corrected :slight_smile: Nonetheless I agree the sketches feature needs some love. It’s mostly fine, I’m sure it can be improved by adding a full screen mode and OCR!
