Will Bear ever support better management of tasks?

Craft Docs, Obsidian, Tana and many other apps all feature centralised access to tasks created across the app. Will we ever see it in Bear? Thank you :slight_smile:

I seriously doubt it. It’s not in the Markdown spec or in its various most common extensions. I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you.

@GenuineSalad I would be in fact against it. This is exactly against the philosophy of Bear, which is - simplicity. Bear is not project management app or excel sheet etc. So either centralised views for tasks, calendars aka Craft (or in similar way suggestion to have filtering or automatic sums in tables) would clutter that simplicity.

I absolutely get the importance of good task management. But lets do it in other apps, which are specialised for it (I do it in Things + OneNote).

The current solution (you have centralised access in “Todo” view of Bear) is enough and right balance in simplicity IMO.

And there is also the option to search specifically for completed and unfinished tasks within each section or tag. Here a screenshot from Bear’s help page:
