Thanks, developers, for coming through on the encryption! Both ADP and encrypted notes-with-attachments, that’s perfect. When will those of us who are not beta testers get access to this?
Oh, perfect birthday gift! This is a significant leap for Bear user privacy. My Bear notes are the only personal files I have stored on US soil—all password protected. @devs, I don’t mean to nag right after such a great update, but is auto-password protection for certain tags (or all notes, in my case) a high priority? Just curious. Until then, I’m very glad we have ADP!
Am I getting it right that as long as I am using ADP (because I want that for iCloud Files and Apple Notes) I will not be able to use Bear Web, even if I wouldn’t mind if my Bear Notes weren’t E2E-encrypted?
So, if i have Advanced Data Protection enabled for my iCloud account, then all my new notes take advantage of that and I don’t need to turn anything on in the settings?
And the comment says attachments are already encrypted seperately. Is that also using ADP?
Titles and tags can still reveal a lot about what subjects people are writing about. Is there not a way to encrypt both the titles and the contents? Perhaps notes could just be registered in the system with an identifier, not any of the note contents.
I wish the update covered all of the data. It is still a good improvement so far.
