What happened: Webpages were clipped correctly but without any tags
What did you expect to happen: That the webclipper would create a note with a tag specified in the chrome extension default tag setting
Is there any setting in the chrome extension I have to change to make this work? Also, I’m using a work MacBook, which might influence extension permissions.
It seems like the Bear web clipper isn’t respecting your default tag setting. Here’s what you can try:
Check Extension Settings: Ensure that the Bear web clipper extension is updated to the latest version. Sometimes bugs are fixed with new updates.
Extension Permissions: Since you’re using a work MacBook, the device’s admin settings might be restricting the extension from accessing certain features. Check if your work MacBook has any restrictions on extensions that might prevent tag functionality.
Default Tag Settings: Double-check the tag setting within the Bear app and ensure that the tag is specified correctly in the Chrome extension. Sometimes, resetting this setting might solve the issue.
If none of these steps resolve it, you could report it directly to Bear’s support with detailed feedback, as the issue could be a bug with version 2.3.9.
You are right, this is definitely a bug that needs to be looked at by the team. I tried it in both Safari & Chrome - neither apended the tag I set. To be honest, I think this as been broken for a while now. Seeing your post, made me think to truly test it and confirm. @matteo or @trix180 is this something you could look into?
