Export to text bundle then import to Apple Notes gives extra lines

I have recently migrated my apple notes to Bear using markdown and I am very happy with Bear, however, I want to satisfy myself that there is a way back should I ever need it. I can live with losing tags but when I export as a text bundle and then import to AN all the notes contain extra line spaces. Can this be avoided?

I’m not aware of a way to import TextBundle into Apple Notes. Can you please tell me how you imported them?

Hi, I just exported from Bear as text Bundle then on my Mac I went to import markdown. It imports everything well including images and PDFs. (but adds extra carriage returns for every line of text) If you export from Bear as basic markdown then the import does not work well.

Oddly, I can’t get a similar result. If you open the MD file with TextEdit, do you see the unexpected carriage returns?
