Importing from Apple Notes

Is there a way to import your Apple Notes into Bear Notes?

Hello,

yes, we have a workflow script for migrating from Apple Notes. Here you can find more information

Hello. Is there a way to keep them in sync though? I have some shared notes with my partner and I’d like to be able to see them in Bear and minimise app switching if possible

If I ran the import regularly, would that create duplicate notes? Thanks!

No, I’m afraid I’m not aware of a way to keep Apple Notes and Bear in sync.

The script gives me the same problem every Apple Notes exporter script/tool does. It exports checklists as bulleted lists.

Is there any way to fix this?

No, because the Apple Notes HTML exporter the script relies on doesn’t have a distinction between lists and checkboxes. We can hope the new markdown exporter in Tahoe’s Notes fixes this but I have not tested yet.

Hi there, thanks for the exporter! In my case (macOS Tahoe 26.1, iOS 26.1) Automator only exports 30 files as html. I’ve got 2006 notes in Apple Notes. Any idea what I’m doing wrong? Thanks!

Any chance you have multiple accounts/folders in Notes?
On macOS 26, you can also make use of the new Notes’ markdown exporter. Select a note in the note list, hit CMD+A to select all the notes, then click File > Export as... > Markdown.
A folder with all your notes will be created, and you should be able to import it into Bear using File > Import From > Markdown Folder.

That did the trick! Very thankful - have a great day.
