As of Bear 2.3, there are 8 individual settings one can configure in the macOS client’s Typography settings:
These are a high number of settings to manage, which are easily lost if the “Restore Editor Defaults” button is ever clicked accidentally.
If we had the ability to export & import these settings (from a JSON, YAML, etc. file), it would allow users to:
- Backup their preferred settings offline, then bring them right back in anytime
- Exchange their settings with other users, who might come up with creative combinations of fonts, spacings, etc. that average users who aren’t font nerds might not come up with on their own.
