Improving drag&drop of text selections onto other tabbed files

If I have multiple tabs open, it’s generally easy to select text in a file, to drag it onto a tab and once the tab has opened to drop it at a specific location.

Here are a few suggestions for improvement:

1. The wait time for a tab to open is incredibly slow. I estimate it’s about 1.5 seconds. Can you significantly reduce that?

2. Currently, you can only copy text. Here are some additional options to Drag & Drop → Copy (just like Lettera already does):

• ⌥ + Drag & Drop → Move
• ⌃⌥ + Drag & Drop → Move and insert a wiki link at the original location

3. Drag and drop onto the plus button of the tab bar to create a new file with the selected text.

4. Drag and drop onto a file from the sidebar → files open in editor after a wait time

Interesting, I have never thought of changing the drag/drop delay. It’s a system setting that affects how long you wait before the tab switches.

I like all drag and drop suggestions/targets. Pervasive drag and drop support is such a wonderful platform convention
