What were you doing: Attempting to use keyboard shortcuts listed in the style bar (e.g. Alt-Ctrl-L to create a list item)
What feature did you use: Keyboard shortcuts
What happened: Most keyboard shortcuts produced no response (exceptions: Alt-Shift-T, Ctrl-U and Shift-Ctrl-E activate Firefox functions instead)
What did you expect to happen: Keyboard shortcuts should have applied their respective formatting functions
Feedback: For reference, keyboard shortcuts work fine on some other websites (e.g. Ctrl-B bolds text in Bear Community editor), and permission for overriding keyboard shortcuts is set to allow by default in Firefox.
I’d like to add that shortcuts not specifically listed in the style bar like MacOS Ctrl+A and Ctrl+E text edition shortcuts to go from beginning / end of the line are not working properly.
Browser: Safari 18.1.1 OS: Mac OS Sequoia 15.1.1
What were you doing: Over a text with markdown markers, put the cursor at the end of a line and press Ctrl-A.
What feature did you use: Keyboard shortcuts
What happened: Cursor moved back to the first markdown marker (e.g. ] for a link, * for a bold text, …)
What did you expect to happen: I’d expect the cursor to ignore markers and go to the beginning of the line when using Ctrl-A, a standard keyboard shortcut on MacOS for text edition.
Feedback: A similar issue occur for Ctrl-E for the other direction (going from the begining to the end of the line).
Thanks. However, the keyboard shortcut issue persists when using Bear Web in Firefox on Windows. For example, pressing Ctrl+I opens Firefox’s Page Info panel instead of italicizing selected text as intended. This behavior:
Occurs even in Firefox’s troubleshoot mode
Is specific to Bear Web in Firefox (most other web apps respond to the designated shortcuts correctly)
