Strg + z doesn't work at all - no undo in the WebApp possible

Operation system: Windows 10 22H2

Web Browser:

  • Vivaldi 7.6.3797.58 (Stable channel) (64-Bit)
  • Edge (140.0.3485.94 (Official build) (64-bit))
  • Firefox (143.0.3 (32-bit))

Bug report

What were you doing:

I changed an existing note and tried to undo something.

What feature did you use:

shortcut Ctrl+z

What happened:

After deleting / cutting of some text I noticed that I would like some text back and tried to get it back via undo. So I pressed Ctrl+z and nothing changed.

I tried in a new note and for me Ctrl+z doesn’t work at all. I wrote new text and pressed Ctrl+z and nothing happened (new text should disappear).

What did you expect to happen:

I would like to have multiple undos.

Undo/redo works in general. I need to investigate this. I haven’t tried the Vivaldi browser.

I tried the latest Edge (140.0.3485.94 (Official build) (64-bit)) and Firefox (143.0.3 (32-bit)) on Windows as well. There undo doesn’t work for me at all. Not even a single undo is possible.

Undo still doesn’t work in all my browsers. I also tried the new Bear web Bear Web Update 0.22 (2025-10-14).

Right. We didn’t change anything related to this in our last update as we haven’t been able to reproduce it.

What keyboard (language) are you using? Where is the Z key located?

That was somewhat a solution.

Ctrl+y works in BearWeb. In all other browser windows regular Ctrl+Z works as undo.

I have a German keyboard layout and my Windows is German as well. Although the issue is more complicated because if I press the -key I get of course a “z” and if I press I will get an “y”.

Because this strange behaviour happens only in BearWeb. Maybe this info will help you a bit.

Ok then, I think we will have a fix for this tomorrow.

Still open with Bear Web Update 0.22 (2025-10-14).

Undo still only works with Ctrl+Y instead of Ctrl+Z.

Hi @dahan, we just released the fix @rexikan mentioned yesterday, please give it a go and let us know if the experience improved.
