Bear is the app that got me into markdown; it also makes me realise markdown limitations.
I understand why the developers want to solve this with some form of hypertext markup: it’s fairly low-weight processing at the view level.
One solution is to change the conditions of an update to the database: eg it doesn’t send a write to the database if not in “editing” mode. That’s how i’d hack it, anyway
