Raycast Notes vs Bear

I’ve been using Raycast Notes a bit, generally for more jotting things down as I think it works a little better for that than Bear, while I’m using Bear for more solid things and building a database of information I can go back to.

I think I like Raycast Notes for quick things because of the subtle transparency which helps the note receed into the background while I’m reading something else, and the one-note-at-a-time workflow, where there isn’t as much overhead as Bear’s tags and notes panes, but still allows for quickly changing notes.

Are there any ways to get closer to that look and workflow with Bear so I can use it for everything?

I don’t recall any theme in Bear supporting transluscency, but maybe that can be re-examined with the release of xOS26 and Liquid Glass.

As for the workflow, the two global shortcuts in Bear for invoking main window and starting a new note are super useful. Cmd+O is quite powerful, too, especially the @today section.

I tend to use Bear with just the editor pane and control most of it via built-in keyboard shortcuts. It’s surprisingly powerful.
