Hi ! I’m studying economics and I love using Bear to takes notes or to put my lesson in order, but I miss so much an in-app LaTeX compatibility to have beautiful equation right in my notes. I currently have to use an online LaTeX editor then export my equation as image and paste them in Bear, that’s not very practical. I would really appreciate it if you add a LaTeX compatibility just like in Obsidian with the “$ $” and" $$ $$" formatting.

Agreed. I study computer science and a lot of the time, there is need for mathematical theory. Would love some support for LaTeX in any capacity. This is by far the only feature that’s missing for me when it comes to Bear

I am studying math and would love to use Bear. Unfortunately, I can’t use it because of the lacking LaTeX / MathJax support.
I just pray that they will implement it one day, but I am skeptical since I read blog posts from more than four years ago where people requested this feature, and till now nothing has happened. I just hope that this will be added in the near future so that I can switch to Bear. Let’s pray.

Also studying economics and use Bear for absolutely everything. It’s perfect in every way… until I realized it can’t do math. Been using it for a while now and just started needing to do some math equations. I agree with you that at least “$ $” would be a welcome upgrade.

Agreed 100%. I use Bear for organizing my thoughts on machine learning papers, and it’s a real bummer that I can’t use LaTeX (or any other math equations) inside my notes. The ability to insert math equations would benefit my workflow A LOT.

I love bear as it is and I would love it even more, if there was support for LaTex, at least for the Math part … . Right now I have to keep all my math notes outside of Bear, which makes my note collection a little mixed up, which is tooooooo bad ….

Ditto everyone else. I recently switched to Bear and I absolutely love it. I am, among other things, a Mathematician, Maths Teacher and Tutor and I would love to see this implemented!
+1 for LaTeX support, I started using this when I was a CS student and really wish I could have written up some of my homeworks in Bear haha
I also need latex support is it planned ?
The development team said four or five years ago that it would add formula support in version 2.0. I don’t understand why I haven’t seen it until now.
I love Bear Notes and use it for almost everything. But the lack of this feature has been frustrating me since day one. I hope it gets added one day! Currently, I write the formulas on paper, take a picture of them and add them to the notes, but this shouldn’t be it.
I am a Software Engineer, so if I had access to the repository, I would even implement the feature myself and make a pull request.
I also need this feature for my engineering studies. It frustrates me that I can’t write simple math equations or functions in Bear. Even for basic calculations like squaring a number, I have to work around with the caret symbol (^).
