Good spot, that’s a bug! I think we can delay the scroll a little to allow the double-click selection to register. Thanks for reporting it!
I can’t select anything by double-clicking, the page moves before the second click. This is a common problem with typewriter mode in other apps, even with a single click. Ideally, I think there should be a pause between the click and the page movement. It’s hard to spot where the cursor is when it moves really quickly.
I don’t know how they do it, but Drafts works perfectly in this respect.

For what it’s worth, in Drafts, you can double-click anywhere to select and nothing moves; the only time the typewriter position is taken up is when you hit Return. I mean, other than scrolling when you get to the end of a line, as usual with typewriter scrolling.
