Sending content to Bear and having it sync

Whenever I send content to a note in iOS, I have to remember to go back into the app again after doing this so the newly created note/content will sync so I can see it on other devices. This is kind of annoying, but not a huge deal breaker. If I do this same workflow with Apple Notes, it manages to sync to the cloud and then to my other devices, without having to go back and open that app in iOS to get the sync done. Can’t this be the same for Bear? Why do I have to go back into the app to get that initial sync to go through? Can’t it sync in the background without having to be focused and active?

So I’ve done a few new notes today and not seeing this happen all the time. What is the expected and intended behavior? Should I have to go back in the app or not? I just had two I sent on my phone while I had the desktop client open and they showed up without my having to go in the iOS app again.

Can you please check if you have the Background App Refresh enabled in your iOS Settings > Apps > Bear ?

I do have that set - I turned it off and back on, and so far, that seems to do nothing. I’ve sent two notes to Bear on my iPhone - one as a PDF attachment of an email that I printed to PDF and sent to Bear, and then another just a typical share of web content from a web page to Bear. It’s been over 3 minutes with no change. The sync from the desktop client shows last synced 34 seconds ago. I went into the app on my iPhone and then it synced.

Is there anything else I should look at or try?

It’s unfortunately tricky to understand why iOS is not giving background time to some apps, and I can’t simulate the issue. Some people solved this problem by trying the following

Toggle Background App Refresh off in iOS preferences, reboot, and turn it back on.
Disable Screen Time if you don’t use it.
Turn off iPhone Analytics and System Services in Privacy > Analytics & Improvements.

That didn’t seem to help. Appreciate the tips. Maybe it will resolve itself at some point. Thanks.
