Today is Friday - end of the week: Does that mean we will get the beta today?
We already started inviting users to the beta, but we are doing this in batches at the beginning. As soon as we are satisfied with the testing we’ll open the beta to everyone at once
Thanks for the information, Matteo.
Can you please add me to the list as beta tester. Can’t wait to get my hands on Bear 2.0. Great Job !!
As an avid bear (and panda) user, I would love to help test the new beta! If there is a list, please add me! Can’t wait to try this out.
Hey guys, i know we all want to try the new Bear 2.0 beta but please let’s not turn this thread into a beta entry begging mess. Let’s keep the focus on questions, ideas and the interesting discussions we had so far.
That is terrific! Awesome work by you and the team.
Would it be possible to include the number of found results in parenthesis at the end of the note title (or somewhere else more suitable in the results list)? It is very helpful to know which notes have more than one target result. Otherwise, you have to go into each note, one-by-one, to determine which ones are multiples.
Perhaps however you’re planning on putting the number of linked mentions on each backlink. Whatever design you are thinking for that … maybe that could be used for the search result count per note. Maybe just a small, subtle grayed out number off to the right.
Thank you!!
It’s not clear to me how to be included on the list for the beta.
thank you for the update, Matteo! I knew it was the right decision to choose Bear between all the others in the market
Let the people be excited!
For now selected number of people will get a private message and in a few weeks (I guess) it will be opened for everybody else.
@krssno
I’m excited too but it makes no sense asking for the beta when the devs decide for now who get it. If a few start posts like this others will follow because we’re all inpatient.
You should never serve cookies on a child’s birthday party
To be fair, it is hard not to ask questions or get impatient when you get the message: „later this week it will finally run on a Mac near you“
That’s what I will do on Halloween when my little one celebrates her birthday. And trust me, I’m impatient too and would love to try the beta right now. Can’t wait to get my fingers on it.
Would love to get access to the private beta! I’ve been a Bear user for the past few years, definitely can assist in providing quick feedback and testing!
If it’s possible to add me to the beta list XD, I’m a Bear fan for years, tried lot of note apps and finally back to Bear. I want to try new version and give u some advices (hope could be helpful). Thanks!
One thing I found was on import, nested tags which had their image assigned via the right click > Change Tag Icon in bear 1, did not keep their custom icons when importing into bear 2. Furthermore, trying to change the icon by selecting Edit Tag and selecting an icon without hitting done, crashes the entire app.
But other then that it’s been very slick so far.
Congrats for this milestone. The 2.0 and the overall direction going forward is exceeding my expectations.
Hi @matteo - a question regarding the “no hover preview” on note-to-note links: could there be a way to tell if a note has not yet been created? As it is now, a link to an existing note and a link to a non-existing note look identical. You don’t know that the “non-existent” note doesn’t exist until you click the link and a new, empty note opens. If there was a way to differentiate such “not yet created” note links (perhaps a dimmed version of the link), that would be terrific.
Related, there is also no way to differentiate between internal and external links. They, too, look identical. You need to place your cursor next to an external link before the external link icon appears. Could external links be shown in a different color, or could the external link icon be persistent, so that it is easy to differentiate between those two types of links?
Thank you.
