What happened:
Export completed, but when I examined the exported markdown files, any tags I had assigned in Bear were missing. This same behavior repeated in a textbundle export.
What did you expect to happen:
I expected to see Bear tags come over in the export process.
As part of my PKM “future proofing,” I complete an “export audit” once a month to ensure that my notes are easily accessible in other systems. Typically, I’m able to open the exported folder of markdown files in Obsidian without any trouble. This time, I noticed that none of the tags in Bear came across in Obsidian. I checked out a few individual markdown files using TextEdit and confirmed that all tags were missing.
Since Bear’s organizational scheme relies exclusively on tags, it would be very difficult to recover my notes system without these included in the export process.
