My fav theme Bear has released so far is the Everforest one. However, the background color for selecting text is nearly impossible to see. I’m not sure how no one caught this, but you just plainly can’t see it.
Please raise the opacity or consider changing the color to make it actually visible. Lastly, I’ve noticed this with other themes as well in Bear.
I’m attaching some images to show what I mean. Can even turn it into a game: “Spot the Selected Text”.
It looks like you have something odd going on either on your screen or your Mac.
I took Dieci because it’s the easiest one to work on. The selection color is #4B3B6E and the background is #000000. The result on a calibrated monitor is this one.
I’ve rebooted my system. This isn’t a new issue I’ve noticed with Bear either. I’ve just never mentioned anything before until it was a big glaring problem with the newest additional themes.
You’ve selected a whole block of text which isn’t a good test because that’s always going to be easier to see as there is a lot more color going on. It doesn’t highlight (no pun intended) the real problem.
The problem really shows when you’re selecting by word and especially by character to fix mistakes. If I’m trying to select up until a certain character, I can’t tell where the selection is. It’s way too faint. Hence why I shared those images. Those images do indeed have selected words and characters, they’re just really faint. You can spot them…you just have to look very hard.
Mine looks like what you shared, so nothing is wrong with my Mac.
Thanks, @trix180! I see the changes on the phone and it’s great! On Mac, I updated, but I don’t see a change in the selection color, not anything like on mobile. Must’ve been some mixup maybe?
Ahhh okay. I guess I do have the update then. I wonder why it doesn’t look the same as on the iPhone. It looks so great and really clear on the phone. I guess it is more clear on the Mac now. Thanks for working on that.
