What were you doing: Creating a new note in the web app
What feature did you use: Creating a new note
What happened: New note was created with Heading 1
What did you expect to happen: The new note should start with the heading level specified in Bear settings (“Create new note with” setting under General), for me it’d be Heading 3. Why have this setting if it only applies in certain circumstances?
Feedback: The “Create new note with” setting has always been inconsistent, the web version is just the latest example of it. If you create a note through other means than the main macOS or iOS app, Bear does not respect the setting and instead always uses Heading 1, for example:
- importing notes (previously reported here)
- creating a note using Apple Shortcuts
- and now, creating new notes from the web app
Being able to specify the heading level to start notes with is great, but what would be even better is if the setting actually applied everywhere.
