Window Management: creating a New Note brings chaos

Hello!
Context(s):

  • main window - open but in background.
  • 2 notes - split screen.
  • or 1 note, split screen, different desktop

Pressing CMD + N I expect to have another note pop up and let me continue my work. Instead it opens a the main window from the background.

Issue 1: This leads to context switching. By either moving my eyes away from my work into Main Window (will get to that in “Issue 2”). Or completely switching the Desktop screen - which is dazzling to my eyes.

Issue 2: Main Window usually points to a last opened note or something I researched. So when I create a new note but I am 15 scrolls away from the top. I need to scroll up into oblivion to be able to “right-click” + “open in new window”.
It is one of the most annoying parts I have since using Bear app. No matter if I am in another window or Main Window working on another note. New Note is at the top and maybe I don’t want to leave the spot where I am with my notes work.

I get that there are workarounds:
For example: Write a title. cmd + O. Insert title name. Press cmd + Enter.
But again the whole “simplicity” concept is murdered by yet another workaround (templates through shortcuts would be an example).

Just a thought:
I know many people are conservative about it, but: tabs.
This could be solved by having multiple tabs and being able to split screen inside 1 window.

Questions:

  1. How do you manage the cmd+N situation when creating a new note?
  2. How can I manage better [Issue 2]?

Thanks!

Regarding issue 1. you can CMD+OPT+N to open a new note in a new window. Possibly a solution for issue 2 as well but maybe the scrolling issue need some thoughts.
