Bear Crash on Back up Restore

  • What happened: Bear App froze and crashed 5 minutes later, not restoring

Hi Bear Team,

I love the app it’s exemplary. Last night On Bear 2.8.2 (macOS 26/Tahoe), while testing the backup restore function by periodically saving and restoring the database, the app froze and crashed approximately 5 minutes after initiating the restore, without completing it. This happened every time I tried to back the app up.

Is this due to the back up being corrupted? First Time I have seen this.

The crash seems to be caused by a merging conflict on Bear’s data, which doesn’t suggest corruption on the backup. Have you tried to repeat the operation? If you have, do you get the same outcome?

Thanks for the reply. Have tried this 5 times in the space of two hours and the same error occurs.
