Bear Web blank bug

Operation system:Windows 11

Web Browser:Chrome (latest version)

Bug report

What were you doing: I was trying to access Bear Web as usual.

What feature did you use: General document editing and browsing.

What happened: Since yesterday, Bear Web only shows the screen with the bear in a spacesuit (like an error/blank screen), and I cannot do anything.

What did you expect to happen: I expected Bear Web to load normally so I could edit and view my notes.

Feedback: Please let me know how I can fix this issue. I’m not very fluent in English, so I apologize if my wording sounds awkward.

Hi, thank you for your feedback. I can confirm we didn’t push any update for the past several days.

We’re going to try to replicate the issue in order to fix it. To clarify, are you able to sign in? If yes, do you get to see the sidebar or is the whole screen taken by the bear in a spacesuit? Do you remember if anything changed in the way you are accessing Bear? Or did you add any new extension to the browser?

Now that I think of it, you may have found an interesting bug.

Could you try switching to a different layout, with the Alt+3 keyboard shortcut?

Hey, thanks for the quick reply!

I tried deleting all cookies, and after that, the login screen showed up again. Now I can log in and use my notes just fine.
But the thing is, I have to sign in every time I open Bear Web — it doesn’t stay logged in anymore.

Thanks for looking into this!

Hey, I also tried the Alt + 3 shortcut, but nothing happened — maybe that one only works on the Mac app?
For reference, I’m using Windows, not Mac.

The main issue right now is that I have to log in every time I open Bear Web.

Thanks again for your help! :folded_hands:

Never mind then, that shortcut on Bear Web on Windows is to change the number of columns shown to 3 (similarly, Alt + 2 changes to 2 columns, and Alt + 1 to a single column when a note is selected).

To avoid having to log in every time you can select the “Trust this device” menu item in the top left menu.

I thought I had the same issue as OP (turns out that I didn’t) as I would only get the bear mascot in the spacesuit on one of my browsers on just one machine. I knew about the ^1, ^2, and ^3 shortcuts keys to change the layout/view, but never would have put that together with this issue I was having – but what you commented here was my issue! Previously, I just resorted to using Bear Web in a different browser for the time being. :man_facepalming:

haha - Thanks!
