I don’t have other reports of this issue. You always see the black boxes regardless of the actions you take in-app?
Are you using iOS 27 beta?
Hi thanks for the follow up! These appear before taking any other actions when app starts up and persist in subcategories (child tags? Don’t know the proper name). They do not disappear after creating or deleting notes. I’m on iOS 18.7.8.
Hi! In case it helps, I’m seeing the same and am also on iOS 18.7.
Any entries in the sidebar that don’t have subitems (so don’t have a disclosure arrow) show a coloured square with rounded corners as in @Plutchik’s screenshot.
The colour of the squares seems to vary based on the theme being used. e.g. with Everforest Light the squares are white instead of black.
I’m on the TestFlight and so tried going back a couple of builds. It looks like this started in 2.9 (14615). 2.8.3 (14474) doesn’t have the issue.
Cheers
Hi!
Just following up to confirm the fix in the latest TestFlight (14636) has resolved this issue for me.
Thanks for picking this up so quickly ![]()
