Exporting DOCX to drive.google.com has the the extension docx but appears to be identified sometimes as a wordocument, which can't be edited in Google Docs

Exporting DOCX to drive.google.com has the extension docx but appeared to be identified as a wordocument, indicated by the word icon, which can’t be edited in Google Docs, but only deleted.
