I’d like to see the sidebar show BOTH the iCloud notes as well as those that are only local.
As it stands now, I only get those on iCloud. I can open another file that may be local on my laptop, but it loses the sidebar.
This would be useful for opening, editing, and working with files whether they are part of my Lettera iCloud ecosystem or other markdown files I have scattered across other folders.
@mikebee if you open the local folder instead of a file you should get a new window with its own sidebar.
Next, click on the menu “window->merge all windows” and both windows will combine into one window frame. Now when you click a tab the sidebar will change representing the folder it resides in.
I know it’s not exactly what you’re looking for but for me it was an easy fix to bring them together.
I also think keeping the sidebar = a single folder is less complicated for everyone (users and dev) but then there are 1000’s of use-cases

I don’t know if this is a bug for me or some setting I’m missing. I don’t get the left sidebar showing notes at all for local files. It only shows for icloud files.
After I do Window>Merge All Windows, I do get the tab across the top to show the multiple files I have open. When I click on the tab of an icloud file, the sidebar shows. When I click on the tab of a local file, the sidebar goes away. So I still don’t have the sidebar for local files.
@mikebee Sorry, you have to open the folder.
If you open the folder you’ll get the sidebar, sorry I wasn’t specific. Once you have the sidebar you can navigate to the file you want then each tab will show the corresponding sidebar.
