Feature Request: Waterfall Preview View for Notes

Here’s a concise version suitable for the Bear community board.

I’d love to see Bear add a new note-list preview style similar to Craft’s waterfall view.

Instead of showing notes only as titles and excerpts, this view would display each note as a small visual card containing a miniaturized Markdown preview of the note itself. Images, tables, callouts, headings, colors, and overall structure would all help make each note recognizable at a glance.

This could be especially useful for visually organized notes such as:

  • Project dashboards

  • Planning notes

  • Reference pages

  • Notes with images or tables

  • Notes designed for quick scanning

When this view is selected, the regular note editor could temporarily disappear. The note list and editor panels would become one full-width waterfall or masonry-style gallery of note previews. Selecting a card would then open the note normally.

The main benefit would be visual recognition. Instead of scanning through many similar note titles, users could identify a note by its layout and appearance.

This would not need to replace Bear’s existing list views—just offer an additional visual browsing option for people who organize some parts of their library more like dashboards or documents.

Would other Bear users find this useful?
