Highlighting links a little buggy

When you try to select or interact with a text link, the formatting expands to show the markdown. However, when you highlight a link with your cursor to copy/paste, sometimes it fully grabs the opening ~ and closing ~, and there are times when it doesn’t. Here’s a screen recording: Bear – Tapes

This is a little pain point for me every single day, as I use Bear to create meeting agendas daily, and I’m often rearranging items by priority. Sometimes it grabs the full link, and sometimes I have to undo and re-try.

If it’s helpful, here’s the bug in the bug submission format:

Testing version:
Live

What were you doing:
Attempting to select a text link in order to copy/paste it

What feature did you use:
Basic text editing

What happened:
I highlighted the text link, but when it expanded to include the markdown, it only grabbed part of the markdown formatting for the link. If I cut and paste the link as it is in this state, the link would be broken.

What did you expect to happen:
I expected the entire link, with all the opening/closing markdown formatting, to be selected in one go.

Yes, this is a known issue that when you select markdown with hidden markdown markers, they will sometimes be included, and sometimes not. We have plans to improve this in the cases where we can have a good guess if you intended them to be included or not. In your case it makes sense to always include all the markers.
