Import > Markdown folder leaves weird #folder hashtag

  • Bear Version:
    • 2.7.4
  • OS Version:
    • macOS 15.7.4
  • What were you doing:
    • Importing a bunch of Markdown files.
  • What feature did you use:
    • File > Import > Markdown folder
  • What happened:
    • The imported notes have a phantom #folder hashtag that isn’t present in the imported .md file.

  • What did you expect to happen:
    • Not that.

There’s a video showing this whole process here.

The #folder tag is supposed to provide a quick way to find the recently imported notes and can be easily removed by right-clicking on it.

Aaaha. Okay, thanks.

FYI feedback from my partner, not a nerd:

Deep confusion. She said that she’d have no idea why that was there, and would be afraid to delete it.

I suggest it might need to be more descriptive. For example when one imports to Apple Photos, those photos end up in a folder called ‘Last Import’ (or something like that). So it’s really obvious what it is.
