You can now link documents in Lettera’s sidebar directly from the editor, using a completion panel. This is the first step toward a more complete linking system, which will later be extended with header linking and navigation menus. Before moving forward, we’d like to hear your feedback on this initial implementation.
Version 4178 also includes a number of bug fixes. The full changelog is below:

At first glance, wikilinks look great. It’s finding files at the top level and in subfolders. The panel is responsive and attractive. This said, should it be selecting documents based on any character position? If I type “t”, it shows me every file that has t anywhere in the filename, rather than at the beginning, or, say, the beginning of any word.
Also, it would be great if it could create files by type [[filename]]. iA Writer does this, and it’s very practical.
What were the improvements to the ToC UI? I’m not sure what was there before. It “seems” 2 changes might be:
narrow underline beneath each header in ToC (if this is new, it looks better than before)
when clicking on a header in the ToC one scrolls down to relevant header, the header is briefly highlighted in yellow and then fades
Maybe I’m not remembering these 2 features, but if they are new they are great additions!
Having a beautiful (not just functional) ToC for this app. It’s a feature I’ve looked for over several years. iA Writer just started doing something like this (and it’s quite good) but this is an increased level of awesome.
I love this. I was wondering if there are any plans to support more wikitext. I maintain and contribute to a lot of wiki’s on Fandom and Wiki.gg and it’s very difficult to find a good native wikitext renderer (in fact, I don’t think it exists atm). I would love for Lettera to serve wiki crowd as well, on top of the .md folks.
What I like is that the wiki links are embedded in a logic, which reminds me of Bear’s new Workspace feature: when I open a subfolder in its own tab, the autocomplete field only displays the wiki links contained in the files of the folder that is currently open. Nice!
Just out of curiosity: Does Lettera create a database or at least a cache in the background? Or is the content reloaded every time you open a folder? If it’s the latter, at what number of files the opening a folder can take longer?

You can create aliases simply by “|”. But how can I link to headings? “/” doesn’t seem to work
