Lettera Version #'s in MD file

I’ve been using Marked v2 & v3 for testing and ran into an issue between the two versions that I’ve passed on to the Marked folks.

In the process, as now I’m having other issues, I was wondering if you could add a comment in the top portion of the MD file that contains the version # of Lettera so we know which build created the file?

Marked v3 is telling me there’s a format issue with one of my MD files and I’m not sure what the issue is or if a prior version of the file had the same problem, I don’t recall it did. I think I used the latest version of Lettera to create the test set of files for them and now after some editing, Marked v3 is presenting me with this error but I think it was the same build of the editor in both cases but I can’t be sure.

Having the version # that created the MD file would help in these cases.

thanks -tom

Hey Tom,

it’s unlikely we’ll add that.

Lettera writes standard Markdown, and part of the point is that the file stays clean and portable, dropping a version comment at the top would put non-standard metadata into every file, which is exactly the kind of thing we’re trying to avoid.

The format itself also isn’t going to change much version to version, so the comment wouldn’t tell you as much as you’d hope about why a file renders differently.

If you need help with a specific Markdown issue, feel free to ask right here or send me a direct message
