Mainland China Apple ID unable log in account

I would like to report an issue I encountered on the web client; I am unable to log in, and it shows an “error” message. I was directed to post this on the forum by zowiewho.

Here are the settings I have confirmed:

  1. I have confirmed that the ADP feature is not enabled.
  2. I have allowed web access to my iCloud data.
  3. My Apple ID is from mainland China.

I hope the engineers can help resolve my issue.

Hi and thank you for the feedback! We are aware of the issue and are actively researching a solution: apparently Apple IDs from mainland China follow a different set of rules when it comes to getting access to the iCloud APIs but documentation is hard to come by.

Thank you so much for your patience. After some testing, we’ve found the reason why Apple IDs from mainland China can’t log into Bear Web. Unfortunately, the ticket authentication system we use for the current private beta is blocked by the firewall in China, which prevents login.

The good news is that once the public beta opens, you’ll be able to log in without this issue! The bad news… is that it’ll take a little more waiting. Thanks again for bearing with us!
