I’d love a little more control over what happens when I create a new document.
First, it would be helpful to choose a default folder, or a few commonly used folders, for new files. Right now everything starts in the single “Lettera (iCloud)” folder, but I keep different kinds of writing in separate places. Someone mentioned pinned folders, which is a good idea, but I’d still like the ability to change the default folder.
I’d also like an option to make Lettera’s clean, standalone single-file view the default for new documents. That view already appears when I open a Markdown file directly from a folder, and it is a much nicer place to simply start writing. Ideally, clicking the new-document icon could open an untitled file in that focused window and save it to my chosen default folder.
The folder browser would still be there when I need to manage files, but it would not have to be the first thing I see every time I want to write.
