Open Note at Bottom of File

When using a note as a running log, journal, or append-only scratch pad, the most recent content is always at the bottom. Every time the note is opened, the user has to manually scroll to the end to pick up where they left off. This adds unnecessary friction to what should be the fastest possible capture workflow.

A per-note or global setting that tells the app to open the note scrolled to the last line of content. Ideally this would be a toggle at both levels — a global default in settings, with a per-note override for notes where you want the opposite behavior.

There are already a couple of shortcuts that help with this:

On macOS, select your note in the list and hit instead of clicking in the editor. Your cursor will be placed right at the bottom, so you can start typing immediately.

On iOS, a two-finger swipe up on an open note will scroll you straight to the end.

Not a perfect substitute for a native “open at last position” setting, but it should cut down on the friction in the meantime

I want to be clear, I am not asking for “open at last position”. I’m asking for “open at end”.

The 2 finger swipe on iOS selected all of text in this very precious and large document. Would really appreciate it just opening at the end.

I asked for this feature a couple years ago and it seems like there’s no development or interest. Getting pretty disappointed in paying for this tool if simple additions cannot be added.

Sorry about the confustion, the two-finger works better with the keyboard dismissed. Tap the note to open it, then swipe up with two fingers.

As for the feature request, I understand the frustration, especially as a paying user who’s been waiting a while. We do take all feedback seriously, but to be transparent, features that only benefit a small subset of users are unlikely to make it onto the roadmap; we have to focus our development on changes that improve the experience for the majority.

I’m sorry that’s not the answer you were hoping for, and I appreciate your patience and continued support.

On a side note I had no idea this was a thing, and it works perfectly for both going to the bottom and top. Thanks
