I’d love to see an option to see the Table of Contents at all times on a page. Ideally this would be in the top left and float alongside the content, staying anchors as I scroll down content. You often see this on documentation sites, and it makes navigation so much easier.
That was and potentially could be again a hot topic
It looks like Panda will have this, judging by the screenshots at the top of the panda sneak peak. Fingers crossed it gets brought back to Bear.
I like what your proposing too. I hope they implement it like that. As a workaround, the table of contents info window can become a floating window. To do this, click the “i” icon, then click and drag from somewhere near the corner of the pop-up off to one side. That way it wont disappear.
This is my top feature request. It’s particularly annoying that it takes two clicks to access the ToC: first on “(i)” and then on the ToC icon. Often I’m moving back and forth frequently between two parts of the doc and this becomes such a pain it’s easier to Ctrl-f for nearby text

I’d love to see a 4-column layout (even on macOS only) where the right column can be changed between Statistics, TOC, and Backlink. This would basically make the floating panel a fixed element that can be shown/hidden (CTRL + 4).
not sure about 4th column but absolutely love having it as a more set object in view
There is a shortcut for TOC: command shift A
And when you “tear off” that panel, it stays open until you quit Bear
