Two years since this announcement, and I really like the current state of Panda because it does everything I need. My only wish at the moment is for the team to address the bug when pasting text inside tables, the bug when adding images to the document, and to add support for relative images instead of converting a .md file into a .panda. Aside from that, the app fulfills all my needs.
How do I use Panda?
I use it as a drafting-to-polished idea text editor. For the past three years I’ve been using Plain Text Editor to draft everything, but recently, I wanted to add some basic text formatting to my notes, so I started looking around. After a bit of digging, I discovered Panda, and it’s exactly what I needed: WYSIWYG on the front end, Markdown on the back end. This also lets me jot down notes at the office, save them to the server, and have anyone read them with no special app needed. It’s not bloated with features I don’t need; it doesn’t come with a built-in library that I need to keep track of (like Apple Notes or Obsidian); it doesn’t need to sync to a cloud service; and the design is beautiful.
Yes, this draft was first written in Panda!
